Shinkyo Inn

The facility was stylish, clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and generous, enough that I could skip lunch. The owner couple were very friendly and easy to talk to. I was disappointed that terrestrial TV channels were unavailable and other channels were hard to view.

The hotel was wonderful with an excellent location; all attractions were within walking distance, making city exploration easy. The room was comfortable, clean, and offered a view of the flowing river. Special thanks to the owner, Mark, for the warm and welcoming reception. One morning I missed breakfast, but the staff kindly gave me croissants to take away, so I could still eat. I was delighted to stay at this hotel and left with positive feelings about Nikko. Highly recommend this place.

I can’t praise the Shinkyo enough: its location is amazing, the building looks cool, the remodel is thoughtfully detailed, and Mark goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a great stay; it feels like home, so highly recommend!

My stay with Mark and his wife was perfect. The welcome was warm, complete with a small tea. We slept in a spacious room with a stunning view of the mountains and river, and the same place served dinner and breakfast—everything was delicious, generous, and well prepared. If we ever pass through Nikko again, we’ll definitely return to this peaceful haven. Thank you again!
