“Not As Good As Expected”
I booked a room that I thought was en‑suite, but it turned out to be a shared bathroom a few metres down the hall opposite another room; the description didn’t clarify until after booking. I’d chosen the non‑refundable rate, so I couldn’t cancel, and the cost of almost £1000 for four nights felt unjustified. Being on the second floor meant climbing four flights of stairs. The photo that attracted me was actually of a different room, probably the one next door. The bed linen could use a refresh; the pillowcases were a dull beige against off‑white sheets, and the floor was dirty. Breakfast was served in a café on the piazza, a five‑minute walk away, which wasn’t mentioned before I booked, and while there was a kettle, no coffee or tea was provided unless you prefer fruit tea.
