The location was convenient, but the staff who checked us in were not friendly, speaking only one‑word sentences while asking for my ID and telling me the room number; people lingered as we entered our room, and when we opened the door we found a half‑empty coffee cup on the windowsill, stained blankets, sheets, and towels, holes in the wall, blood splatters, no microwave, and outside people were screaming and fighting all night, making for a terrible experience.

“We’re pretty basic. Your electronic outlets were way below basic”

The hotel didn't offer breakfast, and the power outlets for phones and computers were all loose and not working.

“Friendly comfortable an overall good place today stay”

The front desk staff were very friendly whenever I needed anything, and they were quick to help. The rooms aren’t perfect, but for the price they’re acceptable. During the summer season I barely stayed in the room, so everything worked out. The beds and bathrooms are fine, and I know many people complain, but I keep coming back because I think people have high expectations for downtown Dover. If you want accommodations like that, you’d have to go to a larger hotel—Holiday Inn, Hilton Suites, Marriott—pay more, and book earlier to get everything you need. I’ve never had a problem with the downtown location, the staff, or the cleanliness, though some rooms could use better paint and the older headboards have marks. It’s not a Holiday Inn, so you either accept it or pay double or more to meet your expectations.
