“We have recommended it to others and we loved it.”

I was thrilled with the building and got to catch up with my brother, who lives locally and was the reason for my trip; we even relaxed in the lovely lounge room. However, when we arrived later in the day, I had grown up in Echuca and we headed straight to the front of the building, panicked to find the restaurant closed, and realized the booking instructions should have directed us to the side of the building to read the sign or to go straight to the hotel.

The building was magnificent, the room was gorgeous, and since we were there mid‑week we had the entire place to ourselves; the location was fantastic and the room turned out to be even bigger than the photos showed.

The property was beautiful and the room spacious, but when you arrive at 9.00 pm the night before a public holiday you don’t expect ‘No Milk & Half a Roll of Toilet Paper.’ Because it was a public holiday and nobody was on site, I had to walk to the supermarket to buy milk and toilet paper; at 7.00 am it was obviously just an error, but still not good enough. You start with essentials, then stock the fridge with wine and beer—sorry, that has to be said.
