The spot couldn’t be better—right behind Tavira’s main square—and I loved the little details like the coffee maker and fridge. I can’t find any fault.

The hotel sits in the old town’s center, though you have to climb many steps to get there. The rooms were the right size for us. The stairs to the hotel and inside it are a hassle, and some written directions (for example, “turn right at the church, the hotel will be on your left, just before the arch”) would have helped; it’s truly a hidden gem.

The place has a fridge and a decent location, but the lighting is terribly bad—gloomy—and you can’t use the bedside lamp while charging your phone because the lamp has only one outlet. The shower stall is jammed and won’t drain. Google Maps shows an entrance on the main square, but it’s actually a dead‑end alley behind it, making it hard to find.
