The staff was friendly, but cleanliness is an issue. Brown stain from someone's butt on the chair; the bedding is too big for the bed and does not stay in place throughout the night. The breakfast was fresh on Saturday morning and the same reheated stuff the following two days. I guarantee they continued on warming it up for the next two or three days after I leave.

The breakfast was good, especially the biscuit and gravy option, and we appreciated how close the hotel was to the Iowa State Fair. Even though it wasn’t the nearest motel, traffic was light and the drive was actually quicker and less of a hassle than many closer places. The rate on Saturday night was noticeably higher than on Sunday, so a lower price might be offered for two consecutive nights, but the second night was very reasonable. I did need an extra bath towel because of my longer hair.

The location is right next to highway 65, which is super convenient. The desk clerks were friendly and very competent, ready to help with anything we needed. The room was spotless, with plenty of towels, and the paint, flooring, and fixtures were new and kept clean. Parking was ample, safe, and tidy, and the sleeping hours were quiet and courteous. At about 7 AM, someone tried to enter our room through both the suite door and the hallway; we don’t think it was a hotel staff member or something the hotel could control—probably someone’s kids—but it was disturbing to find both doors loosened except for the security latches.

Everything was fine, just like many other hotels, but the stay was overall good. The only suggestion would be to offer more fresh fruit, and on the day we were there the juice machine only had apple juice while the others were broken.

The location is great, and the staff was amazing. The parking lot, however, was narrow.
