Set in a 13th‑century castle, Jugendherberge Nürnberg opened in 2013 and lies under 500 m from historic centre, including Nuremberg Castle (100 m away). Free Wi‑Fi, bathrooms, a buffet restaurant with breakfast, 24‑hour front desk, bar, luggage storage and vending machines provide convenience. Former Nazi rally grounds and Messe are 30 minutes away by public transport; Christmas market and Frauenkirche are 400 m away.

The room is small but very pretty and clean. The breakfast was spectacular and the location unbeatable. The only downside was that there were many kids when I stayed, and they made a lot of noise at night with shouting, running, and hitting.

The building is charming in a historic area, very clean, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was quite decent. The 15 h check‑in and 10 h check‑out times were inconvenient, but they kept my luggage free of charge.

The location is great and the atmosphere in the old castle is wonderful. The bathroom could use better ventilation.
