The staff was helpful, especially Ioannis, but the beach towels were only available for purchase.

The rooms were spacious and the nearby restaurant was very nice, but the staircase was difficult to navigate with luggage.

We were overall very satisfied; the place is small, the accommodation even smaller – exactly what we wanted. Still, there’s an excellent restaurant in town (and two others), so you don’t have to drive out for dinner. Breakfast at the hotel was plentiful and tasty, and our host was always very friendly and attentive. The thin pillow in the room was a pleasant surprise. The town has daytime activity but is very quiet at night. A stone beach is within walking distance; if you don’t mind the lack of sand, it’s a good spot to swim with few other people (water shoes are recommended). For anyone looking for a calm, relaxed holiday, Kaliviani and the hotel are highly recommended.

Kaliviani Traditional Hotel is a beautiful small hotel that offers guests a fantastic view from its balconies of the Kissamou Gulf and rural surrounds. It is also well situated, just a few minutes walk to several great tavernas and a short 5 minute drive to port. Guests are well provided for in the rooms, with complimentary water and beverages, tea, and coffee. There is even information provided in the room to facilitate booking a boat trip to Balos beach which seems to be a major highlight of the region. The proprietor Ioannis remains at guests’ disposal via WhatsApp to assist with needs and queries. The offering of a traditional breakfast downstairs in the beautiful common area is a great touch that our schedule this time around did not allow us to take advantage of
