The space was good, almost like a mini‑apartment with separate rooms and even a communal lounge. It was clean and organized. I only missed having a kitchen, but overall the space is great. I would definitely come back. Everything was clean, the bathroom was private, and the WhatsApp support was efficient.

The bed was comfortable and the linens were clean. No damp, germ‑laden blankets, and I liked it! The facilities were renovated and easy to clean. The toilet was functional, modern, and tidy, with a toilet, sink, and shower cabin, plus a hair dryer. Since the room can get a bit cold at the end of the day (the window was open), there’s a fan available that works very well. Very practical. However, the private toilet isn’t inside the room; the room has one key and the toilet another, so you have to keep unlocking and re‑locking doors to get in. That’s not practical. The room key holder is made of cloth and is very dirty; it should be a different material. The corridor’s closed area has an odor that enters the rooms and hits the nose, which made me feel a bit nauseous. The toilet seat had a lid, but it couldn’t be closed.

“A Health Hazard — Bedbugs, Filthy Restrooms, and Zero Accountability (Booking.com Case: 6743-312-994)”

Staying at Santiago Guesthouse was a complete nightmare and a serious health risk. The bathrooms were filthy when I arrived, but that was just the start. The bed was infested with bedbugs, leaving painful red bites and marks all over my body, including my back and neck. I tried to contact the owner multiple times during and after my stay, but they ignored me— clearly they knew about the infestation and chose to ignore it. I took clear pictures to document everything. Back in the US, I spent over an hour on the phone trying to get help. Even as a top‑tier GENIUS Level 3 member, the customer service I received was awful. They promised to contact the property and get a solution. A day later, they offered a laughable 5 euros in compensation. When I declined this insult, they immediately closed my case (Case #6743-312-994) and stopped responding. Neither the property owner nor the service has followed up since. This place poses an extreme safety and health risk and should be removed from all online platforms. It is unacceptable that they are allowed to keep operating. Don’t stay here unless you want to risk bringing bedbugs and infections home.

I found the bedroom and bathroom impeccably clean, but the place is clearly student housing, not a guesthouse – three rooms each with a lockable bathroom on the 6th floor of a block, no reception, and a sparsely furnished room. The key‑safe code, located on the tree across the road, was emailed just 20 minutes before our stated arrival time.
