“Nie wieder!”
The hotel still has a fairly decent-looking pool and the bathroom was okay. The room had no hooks for wet items, the glass to the terrace cracked, the sheets were just big enough to cover the bed and the blanket was just a dirty piece of fabric. When I first said “hello” at reception, they asked if I wanted to check in early for 1500 LKR per person per hour, then offered a room upgrade for an extra fee (by the way the hotel was empty), which felt a bit rude—apparently the manager was also present. The other staff were fine. Breakfast was mediocre, the fruit didn’t look fresh, the omelette was over‑spiced, and the pancakes never arrived; I had to ask for them even though they were on the menu. The hotel’s appearance wasn’t very appealing, and we never received cushions for the pool chairs, as if lying there wasn’t desired. The elevator only goes up, not down, and everything was set up in a very bland way (see hallway photo), making it feel more like a prison than a hotel.
