Being close to the friends we were visiting was a plus, but the room had dents in the walls, curtains that were about to fall off, and a crack in the bottom of the shower tub that made it feel like you could fall through the floor each time you showered. We never had the room cleaned during our three nights; we only saw a sign in the hallway on the last night telling us we needed to request cleaning, even though there was a sign in our room saying everything was cleaned daily. The complimentary breakfast consisted only of grab‑and‑go packaged snacks. The side doors to the outside had broken locks and wouldn’t shut all the way, and with the odd characters in the parking lot, a fully locked door would have felt more secure.

The bed was comfortable, but the price‑to‑value ratio was off. At a Super 8 motel you know what you’re usually getting, and this one was below average. The room door was warped and had to be forced open, a problem that shouldn’t have existed and should have been fixed long ago, showing the motel isn’t well maintained. “Could not have been better.”

Layla was fantastic at check‑in, our room was spotless with very comfy beds, the place was super quiet, and the shower had awesome water pressure—definitely a step above what I’d normally expect at a Super 8, and it raised the bar for me.
