NOZARU ONSEN HOSTEL

“Nice location but expensive for what you get.”

The location was alright. Didn’t supply any towels even though it has an in-house onsen. Had to rent/buy them which I didn’t expect. We also had to make our own beds upon arrival. Compared to all the places I have stayed in Japan, I didn’t expect this. And we had to pay for parking on the guesthouse premises, which was strange. Too sum it up, a lot of extra expenses which are generally included in the price

“渋温泉はとても良いと感じた。”

部屋が広い良かった。. 隣の部屋からの音が漏れ聞こえる 車でのアクセスは道が狭くて厳しいと感じた。駐車場に関しても整備させれている場所ではなかった。

Because the hotel sits on a hill in the hot spring town, the view was great, and watching the charming town at dawn and dusk was wonderful; the receptionist was very kind. The only downside was that I was on the fourth floor and the elevator wasn’t available, which was a bit inconvenient.

“Very affordable, but getting into its years”

The room was large and had a distinctly Japanese inn vibe; the futon was comfortable and you could request extra bedding if needed. For the size it was pretty inexpensive. I stayed in summer, so I can’t comment on winter heating. The onsen was decent, though a bit old, which applies to the whole hostel. It seemed run by just two people, so that explains the limited service. I had to pay an extra 1000 ¥ to upgrade to a room with a private toilet; otherwise you’d have to use the one on the first floor, which I wasn’t aware of and was an unexpected expense.

The hot spring was good, but the elevator was unusable and the room was only average.
