Motel Panoramique

This motel is well positioned on the fjord’s edge, and I was lucky to get a room overlooking the river, which is stunning. Picnic tables by the water let you dine with a superb view. The room was very pleasant, very clean, and the bathroom was tidy. I highly recommend this place.

“Prima motel, ook als je meerdere dagen verblijft.”

I had a nice room with a beautiful view of the Saguenay River, plenty of free parking spots, and the bed was a bit small but adequate. The air‑conditioning, which also served as heating, was a welcome relief during our stay in the chilly weather. At the reception you could replenish items like clean towels, cups, coffee, etc., since they didn’t clean daily. Even though the motel sits on a main road, it was surprisingly quiet. However, there is no lift; you must use a steel external staircase that can be wet at times, so be careful with heavy bags or suitcases. The room had single‑pane glass and no windows could be opened, nor were there ventilation grilles, so for fresh air you’d have to open the door. The coffee machine was hard to operate and lacked instructions. A kettle would have been more convenient; now you have to use the same device for tea and run it a few times to avoid a coffee taste. The bathroom is small, with little space for toiletries, hanging towels, and no exhaust system.

The scenery and the comfort of the beds were great, but the staff’s welcome left something to be desired.

Everything was perfect: a magnificent, very comfortable room with an extraordinary fjord view and a very pleasant welcome. Nothing at all to complain about.

The establishment is very well located for sightseeing, but we would have liked our wine glasses replaced when they gave us a new coffee kit, even though we hadn’t requested it.
