Zum Alten Schulhaus

The location was great, right in the center of Burg. I had booked a double room, but was instead put into a small double room, which was disappointing because I had chosen the double based on the pictures and paid extra for it.

The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The host was easy to reach and the room access was simple. However, the bathroom smelled strongly of sewage, almost making me feel sick. The shower drain didn’t work; I had to pull the plug by hand and found it clogged with hair, which was disgusting. The cleaning staff should pay more attention to cleanliness—there were spider webs and spiders in the room. The bathroom lacked a trash bin. The bedroom window wouldn’t open, making the room very stuffy.

“Im hochpreisigen Spreewald eine sehr schöne Alternative!”

It was suitable for a larger group, and the bathrooms were beautiful and original. Some furniture was a bit worn, but that didn’t bother us.

The window wouldn’t close properly and the sliding door to the bathroom jammed. I didn’t see any smoke detectors in the room.

The shower stank, and even refilling the drain with water only helped temporarily. I almost decided to switch hotels and charge the Zum Alten Schulhaus for it. Disgusting!
