“Great overnight stay”

The motel rooms were nicely designed.

The location was right in town and the beds were comfortable; the facilities were very clean. However, the bathroom was small, the fridge wasn’t cold, and it was noisy. There was a lot of dog poop on the grassy area where we parked.

“Top rating for the hotel and staff, unhappy with the motel”

The hotel/motel was easy to locate and seemed safe. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the hotel itself was great with lovely ambience and fantastic food. Unfortunately, the motel didn’t live up to the price I paid. It was tiny and uncomfortable, with no place to sit comfortably except the very uncomfortable bed and one office chair that became uncomfortable after a while. The bathroom was so small you could barely turn around; there was no door on the shower, only a flimsy curtain, and water splashed everywhere. We had to put the bathmat in the small area off the bathroom where the so‑called kitchen was so it wouldn’t get soaked. The bathroom door was so narrow that my broad‑shouldered husband had to enter sideways. After a long day of travel, we wanted to relax in the room, but that was impossible. Thankfully, the amazing hotel gave us that ability, which we appreciated. We were grateful to have a place to sleep, but I didn’t sleep well, making the next day of travel difficult.

Great location and great food, but there could have been more bar staff.

“Great stay at historic hotel with a very good restaurant.”

The room was clean, modern, and had plenty of supplies; the staff were excellent and the bistro food was really good. We enjoyed the daily roast. We expected an old‑style hotel, but the rooms are actually in a motel block behind the historic hotel, which wasn’t clear in the advertising. The rooms themselves matched the description and were of a very high standard.
