“Smukt indrettet og velplaceret Ryokan”

A beautifully decorated Ryokan, right in the middle of the city’s huge food scene yet surprisingly quiet. Every night we returned to a tidy room, fresh tea on the pot and a small cake that could be eaten while sitting on fine little chairs around a table in the best Japanese style. The only downside was that there was one bathroom and two toilets shared among all rooms, which could lead to queues.

We had a wonderful stay at Inn Kawashima! The traditional Japanese futons were surprisingly comfortable, and the breakfast was absolutely amazing! Every morning, we enjoyed something slightly different, and everything was delicious. I highly recommend trying the breakfast! The hosts were also incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. A truly lovely experience that I would definitely recommend!

“Ein besonderes Erlebnis”

Traditional décor, an authentic feel, and delicious Japanese breakfast. The only issue was that the rooms could not be locked.

The staff were incredibly helpful and the facilities were spotless, with a tiny courtyard that looked just like the photos – it was gorgeous and worth experiencing. However, the building feels old and I woke up to mice scurrying and squeaking noises in the middle of the night, so loud it made me worry about falling. The rooms also lack soundproofing; the guest in the next room chatted and used a hair dryer until 3 am, so if you’re sensitive to noise, a single room is advisable. Plus, the rooms don’t have locks, so keep valuables with you.
