The building itself is pretty ordinary, but the surroundings are a whole different story. It sits in a quiet yet central area surrounded by gorgeous late‑19th‑ and early‑20th‑century houses that showcase Bucharest’s architectural diversity, from French‑inspired elegance to the unique Neo‑Romanian style. Strolling through the streets is a real delight and gives a taste of the city’s Belle Époque and interwar era. My room was exceptionally roomy, comfortable and well equipped, with the temperature just right all the time. The young staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and they let me check out at 2 pm without charging extra. Overall, a pleasant stay, with the location and warm hospitality standing out as the biggest positives. Breakfast, however, was disappointing. There was a decent selection, but the ingredients were subpar—bread, fruit, pastries, even the tomatoes were uninspiring. I’d have preferred a smaller selection of genuinely good, fresh produce. The large TV showing rolling news in the cramped breakfast room was intrusive and made it hard to start the day peacefully. The complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch, but I’d have liked bottled water or at least an option between alcoholic and non‑alcoholic drinks. A boutique hotel’s charm comes from attention to detail and thoughtful guest experience, and that’s where this place still has room to grow.
