Altstadt Hotel Magic Luzern

The building itself was the only positive thing. It wasn’t as modern as the photo made it look; it’s located in the old town but hard to find on Google Maps. The building needs maintenance. Spending money for two nights wasn’t worth it, especially when there are plenty of good hotels at the same price. It needs more improvement.

I stayed in the centre of Lucern, just a 5 minute walk from the train station, which was great. The rooms, however, felt quite small compared to how large they look in the photos.

The hotel has a central location, friendly staff, and the Hotel Krone (check‑in location) is close to the Hotel Altstadt Magic; the rooms are large, decorated in Swiss style, and checking in with a card was fairly easy after a few attempts (insert card, remove when green, then open the door). It’s suitable for short trips. The bed and sofa were rather hard, a bit dusty, the shower hose leaked a little water, the hair dryer was missing, and we could only see the neighbour’s roof from the view. The price‑performance ratio felt a bit high for what was offered.
