Hotel Scaletta

The location was great, but we didn’t realize there were two separate rooms on the top floor without a shared entrance door. With three small children it would have been perfect, but since we were on the top floor we could keep the room doors open.

The welcome was very good, the rooms were spacious, and despite the location, it was surprisingly quiet; the breakfast was quite decent and the bedding was acceptable. However, it isn’t really an apartment: two rooms share a floor with a bathroom in one, so you have to leave the door unlocked at night. One room lacks a mirror, which would be nice for multiple people getting ready. The third floor has no elevator, so you need to travel light.

The “blue” room with a terrace was fantastic, and the breakfast—though not a huge buffet—was just right for me. The overall vibe of the place felt very pleasant, personal, and fun, especially with the owners, which suited me as a solo traveler.

J’ai passé un très agréable séjour dans ce charmant petit hôtel-restaurant. J’ai particulièrement apprécié la propreté des lieux, l’accueil chaleureux et bienveillant ainsi que l’emplacement très pratique pour découvrir Locarno à pied. L’atmosphère est conviviale et agréable. Une jolie adresse que je recommande volontiers pour un séjour à Locarno

“Erwartungen wurden erfüllt.”

The breakfast buffet was exemplary, very appealing, and the restaurant Scaletta offered a wide selection of typical Tessiner dishes. The location is right by the train station—there’s no more central spot.
