“Klassisk hotell med fantastisk beliggenhet”

It may not be the most modern hotel, but it’s a classic with professional service that was incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, the breakfast is good, and there’s a free shuttle bus to and from Kyoto Station. The location is fantastic, right by the Kamo River, within walking distance of Pontocho and Gion. We had trouble finding the Welcome lounge for the shuttle bus at our first arrival at Kyoto Station; it should have been more clearly described in a pre‑arrival message from the hotel.

“Amazing stay and helpful staff”

The staff are amazing, the rooms are a good size and clean, and the shower was excellent. The restaurant could be a bit bigger, but it was busy, probably because of the season.

The hotel was solid overall, but the bar, lounge and restaurant only opened for a short time, so we had to explore outside for most of the evening.

We were blown away by this stunning hotel; its decor feels like a grand era from the past. A friendly young doorman welcomed us and another staff member delivered our luggage to the room. Every member of the team stayed attentive and helpful during our five‑day stay. The on‑site restaurants are top‑tier and every detail is impeccable. The location is both quiet and convenient, with taxis waiting under cover outside and easily summoned by the helpful doormen. This place deserves a 20/10, and we’ll definitely return. Nothing could be improved.

The location was great and the room layout was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and the transfers to and from Kyoto station were flawless.
