I had a bad experience because of my reservation. I thought I’d booked a single bed in a single room, but I was in a box room with three superposed beds on the third floor, which isn’t ideal for a pregnant woman. Overall, it was okay, but the toilets and bathroom had a bad smell and mold.

“Felt like jail more than a hostel”

I stayed at Hostel20 Wilson in Toulouse and it was absolutely disappointing. Room 36 looked more like a prison cell than a place for paying guests. The carpet was heavily stained, dirty, and torn in several spots, exposing the floor. The walls were damaged, showed signs of moisture and dampness, and an extremely unpleasant smell filled the room. The layout was also a let‑down: the toilet was right next to the beds, offering almost no privacy or comfort. The view from the window was terrible, looking out onto rooftops and equipment. The whole environment felt depressing and neglected. Several lights didn’t work, and Wi‑Fi was unavailable on the third floor where my room was. When I told the receptionist about the room’s condition, he seemed surprised, as if he’d never heard of such problems. Given how obvious and extensive the damage was, his reaction was hard to believe. I also overheard the same receptionist making derogatory remarks about people from Marrakech. As someone from Marrakech myself, I found this especially offensive and completely inappropriate for someone in hospitality (he’s Moroccan). I have photos documenting the room’s condition. I’ve stayed in budget accommodation before, so I know a hostel isn’t a luxury hotel, but there’s a big difference between basic accommodation and one that feels neglected, poorly maintained, and uncomfortable. Room 36 was simply unacceptable. Paying guests deserve cleanliness, functioning facilities, a reasonable level of comfort, and respectful treatment. My advice to future guests: think carefully before booking, especially before accepting Room 36. I definitely would not stay here again.

“Tres bien. Je recommande .”

The reception was friendly, the staff were kind, and it was really comfortable. The included breakfast was nice and there’s a good vibe. However, you have to watch your belongings because someone stole my charger from the room while I was showering. Luckily my important stuff and my phone were locked in my locker.

Le directeur était au top ! Très à l’écoute, de bon conseil et vraiment compréhensif. J’ai demandé à changer de chambre et tout a été fait avec beaucoup de gentillesse et de bienveillance. Merci pour cette belle attention et pour votre réactivité !. Beaucoup de bruit dans les chambres voisines (dortoirs) la nuit, surtout beaucoup de bruit de voitures tôt le matin
