I stayed close to the airport, which let me walk there at 5 am without needing a taxi for an early flight. The price was far too high – it should have been half that amount. The beds were decent, but everything else was in poor condition and there was a strong smell of earth.

The bedding was clean, the beds wide, and the windows could be shut to make the room completely dark. We also managed to resolve two operational issues right away – both the staff member/manager and the owner responded promptly and were helpful, which I appreciate. The place was a damp ruin, a ghost house, completely neglected and unmaintained. The furniture was broken, the carpets and other stuff were in bad shape, so we avoided the room as much as possible. The kitchen was in a mediocre state. The photos obviously don’t match. I chose this spot for the last night because we were leaving at 7 am and I’m not a driver (Uber and island buses are problematic) – it was the most expensive stay on Terceira in terms of hours and the worst in my entire travel history, even from when B wasn’t even around.

There was no breakfast. The location was convenient for getting to the airport. The kitchen was dreary and the garden was unkept.
