The hotel is close to UNCW, but there’s a smell coming from the AC unit.

We were thrilled with how close everything was to what we were doing, the vibe on the main floor and the breakfast were great. We generally felt safe until that breakfast incident. Our room was spot‑on and the big window gave us a nice sunrise view. We liked the desk set‑up and that a blowdryer was in the room. Unlimited coffee was a bonus. Every staff member we met was very friendly. On the downside, there wasn’t always someone at the front desk, which might not have stopped the incident. One morning a man who clearly seemed to be on drugs walked in and, while my son was also getting breakfast, he helped himself to food. He then took his breakfast to the top floor, ate, and left a mess. His presence made us uneasy, and seeing him later sitting in the window at the end of the hall was unsettling. We wondered how he got that far and why no one questioned him, as if he had done this before.

The location and cleanliness were excellent, though the mattress felt a little uncomfortable.
