Plas Derwen Hotel

“Höchst unangenehm! Für das, was geboten wurde, war das Zimmer viel zu teuer!”

The free parking was a plus, yet the room was filthy with full spider webs, pills on the bathroom floor, previous guests’ towels in the wardrobe, and the bed sheet didn’t cover the whole mattress so we had to use a bath towel; there was no room service even though it was promised on the website, the lock didn’t work, and there was no staff on site; the main building was a construction site and we weren’t informed about it.

“Exactly what we wanted”

I found the hotel lovely and clean, and it was practical to get to.

“HUge room with Modern Facilities”

The room was huge with modern facilities, equipped for disabled guests with hand rails and wide doors, parking was free, level and right by the door, and the bathtub was loved; when we had an issue it was resolved promptly and the drive into town was short. However, the rooms are undergoing a massive renovation, there was no one on site when we arrived, we had booked last minute and were unaware of the situation; once the renovations finish it will be very nice.

“It was functional and boring”

Because the whole hotel was being renovated (which I didn’t realise), there were no facilities, staff, or anything else—just a room that worked fine for our trip but didn’t feel like a hotel.

The location was good, but the hair dryer didn’t really work, a curtain rail was hanging out of the wall, and the shower needed some getting used to.
