The spacious yurt, beautiful location, and excellent dinner (extra charge) were highlights; the hosts were kind and available. The yurt had lighting that was turned off later in the evening. At the end of September, it got pretty cold at night in the yurt because the stove didn’t keep heating all night; the hosts lit the stove in the evening, but the heat didn’t last until morning.

We stayed two nights at Yurt Camp Mirbek and had a very pleasant stay. The camp sits right on the lake and is cozy, with little corners to relax. The yurts are comfortable and equipped with small stoves, the homemade food was delicious, and horse rides are also available. The family was very friendly and we were warmly welcomed. The only small drawback was that we couldn’t use the shower because no fire was made, and breakfast was somewhat limited. Overall, it was a lovely stay right by the lake!

We paid a different rate when we arrived than the one we had booked for both the lodge and the horse‑riding, but we settled it anyway. The only time we used charcoal was once during the night, and it was freezing cold.

We were a family of four (two adults and two little kids) who booked two small twin yurts because that was all that was available. When we got there they offered us a five‑bed yurt so we could all sleep together, and even gave us a discount, saying they would only charge us for one of the kids, saving us 25 %. There were cheaper yurt camps nearby, but I chose to pay a bit more after hearing a friend’s negative experience at a cheaper camp two weeks earlier. He said the food was included but very basic, and that he couldn’t trust the facilities for three days. Travelling with a 4‑ and 7‑year‑old, I decided it was worth paying a little extra for safety, since I’m no longer a tight‑budget backpacker trying to stretch my money for seven months. Meals cost an additional 900 som per person, per meal, and while breakfast is included, the food is two courses plus snack platters and bread. It’s in the middle of nowhere, so bring a powerbank because there’s no phone charging in the yurts. Internet is available during the day if you pay extra (we didn’t); it’s solar‑powered with a Starlink connection. When the sun sets you can’t keep posting your 20th Instagram story for the day. The kids loved it, so I’m giving this place a thumbs up.
