“Not worth the top money paid. Maybe Hilton could be better, Novotel or Mecure Class range”

There wasn’t much to say honestly; at least it was clean, and the particular lady who checked me in was very good. However, this particular facility did not meet my expectations for a Delta by Marriott hotel. I have stayed at many others in Qatar, Germany, Portugal, and even here in the UK up north. I passed over hotel brands like Holiday Inn, Mecure, Novotel, Premier Inn, etc., thinking I would get luxury and comfort, and with those I could have saved money. Everything in this Delta by Marriott was just BASIC. Even the breakfast became boring—no variety, and I was charged 20 GBP per head. Very disappointing. Don’t get me wrong, the hotel was clean, except for the last day when I believe they had a toilet plumbing issue that made my room hallway stink like Pooh, which is understandable.

Booking was straightforward and the facilities were comfortable; the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. However, there were hidden charges: the room was advertised at £154 per night for 3 nights, but the actual rate fluctuated between £154 and £250 per night, and extra car parking fees were also hidden.
