Located in Kyiv, 400 meters from St. Volodymyr's Cathedral, AV-1 Capsule Hotel features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and city views. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from Universytet and Zoloti Vorota metro stations. Each room has separate capsules with TVs, individual lighting, and power sockets. Shared facilities include a hairdryer-equipped bathroom, microwave, and kitchen. Breakfast is available upon request.

I’ve traveled a lot and often stay in hostels, and this is one of the best I’ve found; I liked the capsule setup. The staff were polite, everything was clean, and they even handed out clean rubber slippers. The only issue was a slightly clogged drain in the women’s shower; otherwise, no complaints.

Friendly staff, great location, the capsule was spotless, and they handed out a bed, towel, and slippers. The lounge/ cooking area was handy, and the capsule itself felt fresh and had enough room for one person; ventilation was fine and the lighting was cool. The shower had a slight issue with the showerheads, which was a minor inconvenience but didn't ruin the stay.

Last time I traveled alone, everything was wonderful—clean, welcoming staff, and a good spot. This time I couldn’t check in with friends because the staff told me they couldn’t accommodate them due to a 15‑year‑old age limit, a rule I hadn’t seen anywhere before. It caught me off guard, and we had to scramble in the evening to find another place to stay.

No hot water, so I had to shower in cold water. The card from the capsule stopped working, and no replacement was given; nothing else worked either—no phone charging, lights, or fan. I had to sleep in the open capsule in the heat; the AC wasn’t functioning.
