The location was good, but the facilities were poor and outdated. The bed pillows had an old sweat smell that I noticed when I entered the room, the bed itself was uncomfortable, and the coffee and tea were subpar.

This quirky hotel has a cosy, homely vibe, and on our second visit we could see that improvements were being made; the building itself is lovely.

The 350‑year history of the hotel gave it genuine character and charm, with each floor on a different level adding to its quirky feel; it was full of personality and far more interesting than a typical modern hotel. We absolutely loved it – a brilliant place to stay! I can’t answer the question, but I loved it.

We had a lovely overnight stay that was just what we needed: a comfy bed at a reasonable price. The food at the restaurant looked delicious, though we had already eaten; the Indian restaurant also serves pizza. The bathroom was tired but adequate.

The food was good and the staff were helpful, while the room was ok but a bit tired looking.
