The location was perfect for my concert at the Hordern Pavilion, and the staff were lovely, clean, and friendly. I wasn’t sure where to enter because the hotel was closed, but I found the keypad and figured that was the entrance.

Finding the place was easy, and the shared facilities were clean with a rooftop area to work or relax. Self‑check‑in was seamless, and the volunteers were helpful. Ventilation in Room 8 was poor—only one window and a ceiling fan—so it got stuffy quickly with four adults in the room. I’m not sure about the other rooms.

The location is excellent and the price is reasonable. The outdoor terraces are nice, and even though the hostel sits above a pub, I slept well with earplugs. The kitchen and terrace layout encourage socialising, and I heard the pub offers a discount for hostel guests. Buses, light rail, and a supermarket are all within easy reach, and there’s a great acai place just around the corner. The four‑person dorm was cramped for four people with a suitcase each, though the terrace view helped a bit. The kitchen/dining area is small for the hostel’s capacity, so sometimes there’s no indoor spot to eat and only two sinks for washing up. I stayed four nights without any staff or volunteers interacting with me; the accommodation was fine, but checking in and out alone felt a little odd.

LOCATION. TOO MANY BEDS IN 1 ROOM MADE IT HARD TO SLEEP WITH PEOPLE COMING AND GOING ALL NIGHT
