It’s a basic but comfy hostel, the staff were super friendly and let me drop off a bag for a few days while I headed to Sandakan, which was a huge help. The place is well‑situated right across from the main shopping centre. The rooms are basic with little space between the beds, but they’re still comfortable.

Everything was super clean, there’s a washer‑dryer, a cozy kitchen, a first‑aid kit stocked to the last thing, even a tweezers for eyebrows, and the breakfasts are lifesavers with calorie‑heavy pastas (spread, peanut, chocolate, and a condensed‑milk‑like one), tea, coffee, plus a microwave, mini‑oven, USB charging. The girls Xia Xia and Liya are wonderful, they solve every issue, speak good English, are polite and friendly. The location is good; I walked everywhere, and a 7‑minute walk takes you to the big Bataras supermarket. Thanks also to the cleaning crew. Finding the place can be tricky at first, but Xia Xia is always reachable; ask for the Wi‑Fi password, it’ll come in handy when you’re looking for the hostel. The only downside is that a mirror would be nice in the 8‑bed room.
