Scandic Kaisaniemi hotel is 250 metres from Helsinki Cathedral and 50 metres from University of Helsinki Metro Station. The hotel features air-conditioned rooms with satellite TV, free 1 GB internet, and work desks. Some rooms include tea and coffee facilities. A daily breakfast buffet and lobby bar are available, with Helsinki Central Station and Bulevardi shopping street nearby.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was generally decent – not spectacular but fine. The hotel itself feels old and worn out; the room we received didn’t match the pictures or description. The bathroom was outdated and in poor condition, clearly overdue for renovation to meet standards. The room had holes in the walls, worn surfaces, and inadequate lighting. It was sparsely furnished, missing a fridge, minibar (not relevant for us), tea/coffee and kettle, and had few hooks or towel racks. The beds were okay but a bit too firm for our taste.

The hotel’s location was excellent, the staff were very helpful, greeted us with smiles, and the tasty treats were a big hit. I’d stay again ❤️ Kiitos. It would be better if rooms had a kettle.

The accommodation and parking are close by. It’s a bit old-fashioned.

The breakfast was tasty, especially the porridge and omelette. The room was clean, the ventilation was pre-set and fine, though sometimes a bit too “efficient.”
