The location is perfect for catching a flight, the welcome was charming and the bed was comfortable, and the airport shuttle was available; however, the room was “blind”—no window, and the sound insulation was poor.

The staff, especially Amar and Sindi, were very kind and tried hard to help with things like scooter rentals and medical issues, but we couldn’t sleep at all during our 8‑night stay. We were put in room 215, right above the reception lobby, which was supposed to be away from the smoking area (true) and quiet (false); the room wasn’t soundproofed, so every phone call or conversation at reception echoed into our room, waking us up repeatedly. We had to ask them nightly to turn off the constant elevator music, which they eventually did. Worse, we couldn’t breathe because we suspect mould in the air conditioner caused horrible coughing and throat irritation whenever we were in the room, and the air smelled musty after we left. It seemed the hotel sprayed some air freshener or perfume before our arrival, and that scent gave us headaches on top of everything else. The hotel’s layout is awful—no windows for fresh air—and the excavator tearing down the outside wall was just an extra source of misery.

The hotel is gorgeous, well‑located, and spotlessly clean, with a breakfast spread and restaurant that really stand out, and the pool and gym are solid. The real downside is the lack of a travel desk and the staff’s inability to help with anything beyond basic requests—no assistance with getting a good taxi fare, no support for local tours like the Papuan village, Dom island, or mangrove trips, and no help arranging Raja Ampat ferry tickets, which is a major gap for a place that mainly serves western travelers.

I had to extend my stay due to change of my flight and I was able to do it without hassles. There was a problem with water heater but it was fixed almost immediately. We would stay there again in our next visit
