The Hotel Walther v.d. Vogelweide Superior in Klausen, Chiusa, overlooks the River Isarco from a medieval building. It offers alpine-style rooms, a restaurant with vaulted ceilings, a garden, disco, and large terrace. Traditional design, LCD TVs, and modern bathrooms are featured. The hotel serves homemade breakfasts, South Tyrol specialties, and offers a library, games room, free WiFi, and ski shuttle to Alpe di Siusi.

The bathroom was huge and very modern, the breakfast was great, and the terrace was lovely. The room was tiny because the wardrobe was right in the middle, and a loud air‑conditioner ran above us all night, but after several requests it was finally turned off.

The bedding was excellent, sheets and duvet cover were super comfortable, and I slept well. Breakfast was good, dinner was also at the same place; I ordered two dishes that were fine and generous portions. Service was great and they gave a free bus card. The only downside is that the bus stop is a bit more than 10 minutes walk from the hotel, which is inconvenient when you have a large suitcase, though otherwise everything was fine.

I was thrilled by the apples and persimmons served at breakfast, and the egg boiling station was a nice touch. On the downside, I had to bring temporary bug netting for one of the windows because the ventilation was intruder‑less.
