Hotel Rum Budapest, a boutique hotel, is centrally located in a historical building near the Great Market Hall. The hotel offers free WiFi, individually furnished rooms with minibar and flat-screen TV, and a Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant, Salt. Guests enjoy rooftop breakfast at SOLID Rooftop Restaurant with Buda Hills views, 1 km from Gellért Thermal Baths and 600 metres from Dohány street Synagogue.

We loved the location and the breakfast with the lovely view, but we were locked into a specific time each morning. The ceilings were nice and high. We booked one of the black rum rooms (the largest offered) and it didn’t match the picture. One side of the bed was against the wall, making it hard for that person to get out. The bathroom was tiny, with a glass‑etched door that didn’t provide good privacy. The sink was tiny, the shower tiny, and there was no closet—only a small rack with a few hangers. Overall the hotel was all black, making it harder to see in the rounded stairway. Lighting was inconsistent. The staff were just okay, not super friendly, except for the lovely women who checked us out.

I really enjoyed the place, especially the location and the rooms, and the restaurant was pleasant. The only downside was that the breakfast menu for residents was very limited and differed from what was shown on the website, though what was available was still tasty.

The location is fantastic, and the breakfast is superb because the restaurant has (or had) a Michelin star; you can walk to almost everything. The bathroom had a small leak.

The location is great, the room is very spacious, and the breakfast spot is lovely. The decor is nice, the a la carte breakfast was good, and the coffee is excellent. The beds, however, were very hard.
