Great option! It’s quite a quiet spot, even though it’s by the road. The staff are very friendly, and the cosmopolitan owner Izma, with whom we chatted all evening, made us feel at home. He offered a yacht trip (extra service) for snorkeling, where we were fed an amazing lunch. The room is clean, everything works, and it’s a decent size. Breakfast is tasty (falafel, flatbread, veggies, hummus, yogurt, apple, cookies). The city is only reachable by taxi; alcohol is nowhere nearby. On the beach (4–5 minutes walk) and along the road to it, there are spots to eat or grab a bite. The beach isn’t super clean, but the sea is wonderful, very clean, and full of fish. In Akaba itself there’s not much to do; more than 2–3 hours isn’t necessary. There are decent fish restaurants. We ate at Fares and liked it.
