“Good value for your money”
I had a pleasant overall experience; the hotel sits in the town centre, the staff were decent, and breakfast was fine. Bus stops and booking offices are right in front of the hotel or a 2‑minute walk away, so I highly recommend using G8 or HK buses to get around. The bathroom was spacious, and a WinMart supermarket is about a 4‑minute walk from the hotel. The beds were a bit hard for my taste, and the shower water pressure was inconsistent, coming and going. Also, bring cash because card payments aren’t accepted in this area.
“Good location, quiet, big rooms”
The hotel’s location was excellent, the rooms were spacious and quiet, and the owners were very flexible with my check‑in and check‑out times—thank you for that. However, privacy was a major issue: I stayed in a corner room at the very end of the building, with windows on two sides. I kept one curtain closed for privacy while leaving the other side open because there was no public access to those windows. More than once, staff peeked in through those windows and checked on me, which made me feel completely exposed and without privacy, even though it was a private room. I understand they’re promoting tours and activities, but please don’t do that right after a guest has just arrived, especially when they’re tired and just need to shower and rest; there will be plenty of time later to discuss tours.
The room was acceptable, but the staff were truly awful. After posting my review, they cancelled my booking by marking me a no‑show to erase the review. I reached out to customer support and got both bookings reinstated. We had a terrible experience: the owner and staff were extremely rude, did several things wrong, and instead of apologising they justified themselves and immediately tried to sell us a tour package. We attempted to leave a review on the platform we used, but they were sneaky and just cancelled our booking as a no‑show after we posted the bad review. I’m writing to set the record straight. They promised to be there when we arrived and to have breakfast ready at the requested time, but they didn’t. They were rude all the time and tried to check us into a room that was different from what we booked; when I told the lady, she immediately took us to the correct one, showing she knew what she was doing.
The room was quiet and slept well. The bathroom had a bad smell, there were no hangers or coat hooks, and the facilities were poor.
“Nicht erholsam!”
The breakfast, central location, and private car tour to the caves were positives. The beds were hard, and the old air‑conditioning unit couldn’t set a comfortable temperature, forcing us to use a fan that only ran at full speed. We could barely sleep because it was too hot and humid.
