[TEXT] The hosts were wonderful, sharing plenty of local tips and adding treats like Orkney fudge and a tasty breakfast. On the downside, at the very end of the season nothing was open for dinner in Stromness except take‑away, and it took 35 minutes to Kirkwall—definitely not Virginia’s fault.

[TEXT] Virginia’s welcome set a fantastic tone, the room offered plenty of storage and hanging space, and the breakfasts on both mornings were incredibly generous. Though it was a bit out of the main towns, the views—especially sunsets over the Brough of Bisay—were superb, making our Orkney experience extra special. Nothing to complain about.
