“Aceptable para ser Semporna”
The location is perfect if you want to go to Semporna, considering the city is really nauseating; at least here you can breathe without vomiting, something almost impossible in the city. They offer a free taxi service, which isn’t great but it’s something. The pool is good, though they could use more hammocks. The staff are pleasant, but they should learn more English since they rely on tourists, and they should be a bit more attentive. My boyfriend asked where he could get a haircut, and they helped by calling a barber to cut it right there, which we appreciated. When we arrived they didn’t greet us or ask anything; they just stood there waiting for us to say something. Their English level is very low, and combined with other customs, it’s a bit hard to communicate. When we entered the room there was a piece of broken floor that was peeling off, and it was somewhat dangerous because if you walked barefoot you could get a splinter; I don’t think it should have taken much work to fix it, at least tape it up or something. Breakfast was included, but they never ask if you have allergies, intolerances, or simply if there’s something you don’t like; they just put a plate with whatever they feel like cooking that day and that’s it, which I don’t find fair. They should take better care of the facilities because there were a lot of cobwebs everywhere and some things were very neglected, like the stairs that were half broken. I was very disappointed that they don’t have a jacuzzi as shown in the photos, which was the main reason I booked; when I asked the staff they said those photos were old from when there wasn’t a pool, but the pool photos have been updated, while the jacuzzi photos have not been removed even though it’s no longer there. Another thing I booked for was a late checkout, but at 11:40 they were already knocking on the door telling us to leave; normally late checkout is until 13:00, and no matter how much I said it, they didn’t listen and only told us that if we wanted to stay longer we had to pay, which we eventually did. Honestly, I think it’s the best place to stay in Semporna because the level is very low, but it still leaves a lot to be desired for the price it has. My recommendation: don’t go to Semporna for the many beautiful beaches (which are not many) that are completely full of garbage; they don’t care about their surroundings or tourists.
