“Un Palazzo Encantador en el Casco Viejo de Siena”

The hotel was the most original place we stayed in Tuscany, a refurbished palace with an eclectic taste – the owners are French. It blends old (the dimensions, the antiques) and modern. There are only 9‑10 rooms and the staff were very friendly. I didn’t read the instructions carefully for getting to the hotel by car, so I missed the free escalators that go up from the only non‑resident parking. If you have heavier luggage, you can leave the bags at the door, then drive down to the parking using the hotel discount card, and then take the escalators up – the walk takes about 10‑15 minutes. There is no parking for non‑residents in the old town, but the hotel can allow 30 minutes of circulation so you can drop off and pick up your car.

The structure, design, and location were great. I booked for three adults and the description on Booking mentioned two beds, but in reality there was only one double bed and a very uncomfortable arm‑chair bed without a mattress.

The property was stunning – unlike anything else I’ve stayed at, and for a 3‑star hotel it was truly exceptional. The breakfast, however, felt more like a 3‑star offering.
