The only bright spot was the free‑wheeling, sassy guide! But the room was infested with rats that smelled unbearable, and the restaurant served food with terrible service. I had guests from three countries and tried to promote the winery at the highest level, yet the table was cluttered and stained. The wines from Individo, sourced from a fine supermarket, were exceptional, but the tasting featured very poor quality wines. I asked for a decanter from Taraboste, and although the staff were friendly, they couldn’t provide one. I’m totally disappointed and would not recommend Chateau Vartely; it’s nothing like the Chateau Vartely I’ve known and promoted for years.
