Very central and clean, with plenty of space for a comfortable overnight stay. We booked here for a wedding in the area, and the location suited our needs. Unfortunately, we ran into a problem with the geyser and had no hot water during our stay. The owner told us about the issue on the morning of our arrival and later said it had been fixed, but that wasn’t the case, and we still had no hot water. We were lucky to use the flatlet next door, which had a working shower with hot water, but having to walk between the two units to shower was not ideal. Previous reviews had mentioned hot‑water problems, so this might need more attention.

The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and I also enjoyed the outdoor seating, which was a perfect way to unwind after a long day on the road.

The breakfast at MaRiekie was brilliant – huge portions and the staff were great, and everything else was fine.

“I would not stay here again. Mosquitoes and rooster crowing left us sleepless”

Six roosters next door crowed all night, ruining my sleep, and there were a lot of mosquitoes with no repellent provided.
