We stayed here twice, leaving our luggage on a break and then heading to San Cristobal for a few days. John is a fantastic host who speaks excellent English and is very approachable, plus he’s a great photographer. Thanks to his tips we discovered many beautiful, off‑Google spots. He arranged taxis instantly, both to those places and to the airport. Breakfasts were amazing, personalized for us and varied daily, featuring excellent local coffee, served on a terrace on the roof with a stunning view. The apartment is modern and very functional, on the ground floor with an outdoor section, a kitchenette, and filtered drinking water. The walls display the host’s photographs. The bathroom is beautiful and modern, with almost every amenity you could need, including hooks that let you hang all towels, not just one. The bed is large and comfortable. The overall level is at least 4‑5 star hotel quality—better than the 5‑star hotel we stayed at later. Nothing to complain about; everything was great.

The view and location were great. The only downside was the lack of a lift, although we were aware of that beforehand.

Torre Mar Galapagos Suites was the ideal place for our 4‑night stay in Puerto Ayora. John, the owner and host, checked in with us regularly to make sure our needs were met. Early‑morning breakfast boxes, laundry services, and cozy robes were appreciated. Starlink Wi‑Fi and daily room cleaning were big comforts. The bed was comfy, there was plenty of space for our gear, and the kitchen was very functional. I highly recommend this property and would love to return. Our expectations were met.
