Elveden Inn

After a wedding nearby we stayed here with our newborn baby and were thrilled with the room’s quality and the staff’s kindness; we were nervous about staying far from home with the baby, but everyone was warm and helpful, making everything a million times easier. The room was huge and beautiful, and we’re glad we chose this place and will return next time we’re in the area.

“Convenient, affordable but room for improvement”

I only had dinner there, and the food was actually very good, but the service was a bit slow and seemed to attend to other tables more than mine, so I waited a while. The place could use more attention for smaller tables so people don’t have to wait. The accommodation was nice, but neighbours were banging doors a bit. The room smelled damp because the air conditioner had dirty filters and the fan was covered in mould, so I turned it off to avoid breathing it in. As the only source of heating and cooling, it really needs to be serviced and deep‑cleaned more often. I was paying for dinner with a £40 voucher; the meal cost £36, including a 10 % service charge already built in, and the remaining £4 was removed from the till without asking if I wanted a drink or anything to use it on. That felt a bit rude because it was my money.

“Had a spacious double room it was fully stocked, love that there was a large bottle of water in the room! Don’t see that”

Everything about the property was beautiful, well thought out, and perfect for families or travelers on the go; I only stayed one night and would love to bring my grandson and family next time, but since Elveden is directly off a busy main road, I wish the back lawn had secure safety barriers for kids.

“We had Sunday roast which was delicious and the accommodation was very nice”

The room was very modern and comfortable, staff were friendly, but the pillows felt a bit hard.
