The place feels like a rustic hideaway, surrounded by trees and a calm that’s hard to find elsewhere. The only hiccup was the low water pressure at the taps and a shower that needed a bit of internal cleaning to clear the spray holes. Nothing major, but worth noting if you’re picky about the shower.

The room was spotless and everything seemed to be in its right place, which made settling in a breeze. Honestly, there wasn’t much else to complain about – everything was just fine.

Vila Cizinha is a artist’s creation, thoughtfully arranged down to the tiniest detail, using lots of natural wood, clay and stone. The outdoor area is snug and instantly makes you feel at home, so I’d definitely recommend it. I liked every bit of it.

The inn is pleasant, set among plenty of greenery, and the chalet comes fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Just watch the minibar – my beer ended up frozen solid. Other than that, everything was solid.
