“Comfortable and affordable for a short weekend stay.”

The hotel was close to where we needed to be for a quick weekend in that part of Melbourne, and the room we stayed in had good block‑out blinds and a comfortable bed. It was spacious and there were plenty of food options within a 15‑minute walk. The only downside was that it wasn’t very sound‑proof; we could hear doors shutting and people talking outside.

“Room was clean and tidy but pool in need of cleaning”

The room was a decent size and looked fairly modern and comfortable. The TV remote didn’t work, and several other guests mentioned the same issue. My room had a pool view, but the pool itself was green and full of ducks, which looked awful. I also found a used teaspoon left in the room.

“It was a very nice hotel and apart from the crazy way of getting into the driveway it was a good place to stay”

It was close to the zoo, but the driveway and getting into it were dangerous because there’s a bike lane right next to the driveway. If you’re not used to that, you can easily have an accident, so better signage is needed.

“Everything about this place shows they have not spent any money on maintenence and upkeep.”

The only thing that was good was the location; everything else was terrible for the price. I can’t understand how it could be rated 4 stars. The doors rattled, there were holes in the walls, and there was no water pressure or hot water. The bathrooms were absolutely awful—no water pressure or hot water in the first room, and after we changed rooms there was no water pressure at all and the shower was leaking all over the bathroom. The beds were terrible and the pillows were flat and obviously the cheapest. The pool was disgusting, looking like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The staff were very slow at check‑in and seemed unconcerned about the poor facilities.
