The only thing was the location. The hostel is in a small gloomy alley, I ordered in the train and they asked me to pay an extra 10 € so the young lady who lives there could wait for me, and I could only pay that surcharge in cash while the rest I paid by card, which seemed very close to money‑laundering. The surcharge was added because she was waiting for me even though she lives there, she slept in my room with two other guys. We slept on metal bunk beds that didn’t hold well, causing noise with every little movement, I came back to a nauseating smell, the floor was dirty, the bathroom/shower was awful. The next afternoon I had to leave for Paris urgently because my mother was taken to the emergency room after a heart problem; I asked if I could cancel the week I had booked for ~260 € and get a refund for the following days, I asked for at least 150/200 and they wouldn’t budge, saying I had booked a spot even though they could have cancelled and freed it for someone else. I’m sure the owner and staff use borderline tactics to scam clients. I know it’s a youth hostel and at that price you don’t expect 4‑star, but there are limits… I definitely don’t recommend it! Scammers and a total disaster.
