Accommodation at Salomons Estate

“Could have been better with more attentive staff and less taciturn bar person though kindly night manager put the lights”

The grounds were beautiful and the reception was friendly and welcoming. The room was basic but okay, though it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly. One staff member saw us arriving for breakfast and hurried away; I had to find someone to ask about breakfast because no one was around, and the croissants ran out with no one to help. Throughout breakfast, no staff were visible until the end to clear the plates.

The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the breakfast was very good. However, the description online didn’t match where we stayed; Solomon Estate was not what we expected, more like student accommodation.

The location was beautiful and perfect for the personal event my wife and I attended, yet the lamp’s electric connection was unreliable—sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t, probably due to a short. Worse, the desk lamp wasn’t secured; when I tried to turn it on, the top popped off and exposed live wires. Reception showed no concern or apology, and the breakfast was old‑fashioned and largely unhealthy.
