The location, pool access, and outdoor ambiance were nice, but the old method of accessing YouTube on the television and the poor internet made it horrible, especially with the limited availability of a smart television.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed a great sea view from our room; the hotel has a pool, though we didn’t have time to use it, and the breakfast menu was comprehensive. On the downside, our room had a basic feel despite being well equipped with a fridge, iron, board, safe, etc.; noise transmission between rooms was an issue, as we were woken at 3.00am by loud talking in the room next door, though the night manager dealt with it straight away when called. Potential guests should know that the hotel is a 30‑45 minute walk from the town centre for restaurants, and the evening dinner menu is very limited.

The staff were very helpful, the location suited our needs, the bar area was nice, and the breakfast was good; however, the sofa bed wasn’t the most comfortable.

Excellent room with sea view, clean and comfortable, overlooking the large pool. Excellent buffet breakfast at a reasonable price, reasonable dinner choice in the bar, reasonable parking, reasonable walk to the CBD. Couldn't adjust the airconditioner to heat but could turn it off, fortunately staff provided extra blankets. Dinner only available from the bar which was quite small and it was too cold to sit outside by the pool in the evening. It is a furphy that it is always warm in Cairns!! It might be 26C for two minutes mid-afternoon but the wind is still cold!!

The service was great every day, the staff were friendly ❤️, and there was nothing to dislike.
