Hotel Buntrock

The staff were very nice, the mattress super comfortable, everything worked great! The room was very quiet (at the back). Rooms on the street are only quiet with the window closed; you should ask beforehand if that matters to you.

“Für eine Nacht okay, mehr geht wegen der Lage gar nicht!”

The hotel was okay, but what do you do with a balcony that sits directly over a busy street? Sleeping was only possible with the window shut. Breakfast was excellent – everything was available, and scrambled eggs were made fresh on request. The bicycles could be safely parked in a garage. We were especially put off by the hotel’s location on a nasty main road. Unfortunately, Holzminden offers little choice, as there are hardly any hotels, restaurants, cafés, or shops. The place is pretty dead.

A very friendly staff member attended to all our requests. We had to leave very early in the morning and had no chance to eat breakfast, so they prepared tasty lunch packs for us. The room was very comfortable, with good beds and a nice bathroom.

The staff are kind and helpful. The hotel is modern. The room was large and had a balcony. Breakfast is good and varied, and scrambled or fried eggs can be made fresh on request. Bus stops are right outside the building, e.g. for trips to Holzminden station or to the surrounding area. The hotel sits on the edge of the old town; the market square is about 10 minutes away, and the Weser 20 minutes. Because the hotel is between a hospital, police, and fire station, you can expect emergency vehicles with special signals. The closed balcony door is almost soundproof.

Good breakfast and free parking in the back of the property. Beverage and snack vending machine at the entrance. The carpet on the floor never gives me a sense of cleanliness. The shower had a curtain.
