A beautiful intimate ryokan with a great private sauna and bath area.

The meal was just okay. I feel there are better value ryokans in Japan, but the view from the outside terrace was nice. It was my first time at a place where every communal onsen was individually reserved, which can be fun for friends or couples. I didn’t appreciate that not every onsen had a bathing or shower facility (if other guests just entered without bathing, that would be pretty awkward).

The stay was wonderful: the staff were so welcoming, the private outdoor onsen was beautiful, and the food was incredible—definitely a 10/10 highlight of my trip.
